Through the GRIT Program (Growth, Responsibility, Integrity, and Transition), we provide structured support including case management, employment readiness, housing referrals, identification assistance, and peer accountability to help individuals stabilize and stay on track.
This work matters because not every situation needs to end in arrest. Many law enforcement agencies, including here in Fayetteville, recognize that people need support, direction, and resources not just consequences. That’s where we come in.
Donations directly support this work by helping individuals obtain IDs, access transportation, connect to housing, and receive the guidance needed to successfully reintegrate.
When you give, you are investing in prevention, stability, and safer outcomes for individuals and the community.

About True To You Outreach
True To You Outreach is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving adults navigating reentry from incarceration and individuals at risk of justice involvement in Fayetteville and throughout Cumberland County.
Our work centers on a recidivism prevention and reentry initiative that focuses on the most critical transition periods when individuals are at the highest risk of returning to the system. Through structured guidance, peer support, and connection to essential resources, we help individuals stabilize and move forward with direction and accountability.
We also provide prevention support for youth by offering early guidance, structure, and positive direction before challenges escalate into deeper system involvement. Our goal is to intervene early and change the trajectory before justice involvement begins.
This work is personal.
Many years ago, someone very close to me was incarcerated for several years. When they returned home, I saw firsthand how difficult it was to transition back into the community. They faced stigma, barriers to employment, and the challenge of rebuilding their life without a clear plan.
When they were released, they walked out with very little and no real direction.
It wasn’t easy. There were setbacks and moments of doubt. But they kept going.
It took grit.
Today, they are doing well but I saw what it took to get there and how much support was missing during that transition.
That experience is why this work exists.
Because too many individuals are expected to figure everything out on their own during one of the most critical moments of their life. Without early intervention, the cycle continues.
With the right structure, guidance, and support, the outcome can be different.
True To You Outreach exists to provide that intervention helping individuals move forward, reduce recidivism, and build a path toward long-term stability.
